Tashes!

Good afternoon chums!
This is a scheduled post (so fingers crossed you are getting this loud and clear). I'm currently visiting my mum and dad up North.
Well, I have for you today a card embellished with the oh so popular tash. I did it for a friend for his birthday (another one I didn't get round to posting...you have to forgive me, I have been busy of late with a lot of commissions).
I know, excuses, excuses.
Okay, onto the good stuff. Here we go...

What you need...

Dies: Mustaches (DR0410) - Lifestyle Crafts QuicKutz
Embossing folder: Mustache Set (657983) - Sizzix
Patterned paper: Kate & Co. "Oxford Lane" 6x6 pad - My Mind's Eye
Card stock: navy, white
Button: yellow
Baker's twine: yellow, navy, green
Gems: clear
Adhesives

What you do...

Create a top fold A6 navy blank and cover with a smaller piece of yellow plaid paper. use the mustache embossing folder to make a white background and adhere to the blank.

Die cut three different sized mustaches in yellow plaid, navy spot and green hounds tooth papers and attach to the blank. Print a sentiment onto white card and cut into a banner. Mount onto navy spot paper and adhere to the lower right of the blank, overlapping the edge. Knot a length of each colour of twine through the button, trim and fray. Glue to the left side of the banner. Finish with a gem on each mustache.

This card is so cool. Great for male birthdays or Father's day; any age too!

Today's lesson is now over. Thank you for stopping by and reading through my drivvle.
See you soon - ta ta! xxx

P.S. The spell checker kept highlighting the 'mustache(s)' - but it's the US spelling as on the die and embossing folder packaging. I know here in the UK it's spelt moustache - but if you want to source where to buy them, it's best to stick to the correct spelling for the US (hope that makes sense - I don't know what I'm waffling on about most of the time).

Heevnin me luvvies!
Hope you all had a fab weekend! I was busy finishing off a commission for Crafts Beautiful, so I didn't get to spend much time in the garden, but it was lovely sitting in my craft room with the window wide open, listening to the birdies :o)
In this post I'd like to show you the card I did for Simon's dad. He doesn't have a tache, but I love taches and I refuse to do an old fuddy duddy card. So here it is....

What you need...

Stamps: He Said Clear Stamps - Teresa Collins
Patterned paper: Quotes 12 x 12; Mustache 12 x 12 He Said She Said - Teresa Collins

Punch: corner rounder
Card stock: dark brown, white
Ink pad: Wheat - VersaMagic
Alphabet stickers: dark brown
Hemp cord: cream, tan
Buttons: dark brown, blue, tan
Adhesives

What you do...

Round the bottom right corner of a 13cm x 15cm top fold blank. Attach a strip of the Mustache paper down the left side. Cut a banner in circles paper from the reverse side of the Quotes sheet. Attach to the top left with a dark brown button tied with tan hemp.

Stamp the speech mark and lines onto white card in wheat ink. Die cut into a circle and mount onto a larger one cut from the circles paper. Die cut a mustache in brown card and mount onto the circles. Adhere to the lower right of the blank. Finish with blue and tan buttons tied with cream hemp and letters to spell 'Dad'.

Cool eh??? I used the Retrosketches #56 sketch for the layout.

You can find this layout and many more at http://retrosketches.blogspot.co.uk/

This blog is full of inspiration and ideas and some fantastic works of creativity. It's brill if you are stuck on a layout for your card. Don't forget, you can also adapt it slightly to suit.

Well, I'll go for now. I'll be back soon with the card I did for my dad. Enjoy your evening. Toodle-pip! xxx

Dad's Tash!

H'afternoon chums!

Hope you are all fit and well on this Wednesday afternoon. I'm sitting here with a nice hot coffee, mmm. Lovely!

Today I would like to show you a card I have made for my Dad. It's his birthday on the 26th. He doesn't have a 'tash', but he used to years ago. I got him a set of freshly wrapped assorted style tashes as a daft silly present for Christmas, so I thought I would follow it up with a tash themed card for his birthday.

Here goes:)

What you need...

Dies: Mustaches (QuicKutz) - Lifestyle Crafts
Paper: My Favorite Things 6 x 6 Designer Paper Pad - My Mind's Eye
Card stock: white, black, greys, browns
Adhesives

What you do...

Cover a top fold 11cm x 14cm blank with mustache paper. Attach a 6.5cm x 12cm panel of white card down the centre.

Die cut the mustaches in shades of brown, grey and black card and fix to the white panel. Print the sentiment onto white card, trim into a banner, mount onto grey card and trim again. Adhere centrally to the bottom of the white panel. Ta da!

There you have a quick and amusing card to give to the man in your life...or one of them anyway - ahem! I just love these dies and I bought the paper pad just because it had tashes in it!

Okay, I'm going now, enjoy the rest of your day. Thanks for dropping by.xxx
