Cute Elephants

Hello there!

I'm back again with another card...well four actually. I have a cute elephant die set by Sizzix/Craft Asylum in my stash. It's a few years old now and I thought it was about time I played with it again.

I wanted to make a thank you card using the die with four colours. I love the Concord & 9th card stock and inks so I put them to use. I wanted the main card to be a light grey elephant with pale pink, dark pink and dark grey details. I used the Ballet Slipper, Honeysuckle, Dove and Mushroom shades of card. Rather than waste the extra pieces or put them in a baggy to forget about, I decided to make another three additional cards.

For the speech bubble, I used the Ballet Slipper ink, which matched perfectly with the pale pink detailing.

What you need...

Dies:
Elephant Duo (660496) - Craft Asylum/Sizzix

Stamps:
Sketchy Thoughts - Winnie & Walter

Ink Pads:
Ballet Slipper - Concord & 9th
Onyx Black - VersaFine

Card stock:
Ballet Slipper - Concord & 9th
Honeysuckle
Mushroom
Dove
White

Extras:
Adhesives

Tools:
Big Shot - Sizzix

What you do...

1 Die cut the large elephant in Ballet Slipper, Honeysuckle, Mushroom and Dove.

2 Back the detail apertures of the elephant with low tack tape and infill the apertures with Ballet Slipper, Honeysuckle and Mushroom.

3 Mat the elephant onto a white 4¼" x 5½"  (11cm x 14cm) blank.

Stamp the speech bubble above the elephants trunk in Ballet Slipper. Stamp the sentiment within the speech bubble with Onyx Black ink.

These would make a great little gift set if you teamed them up with some matching envelopes and either tied them up with pretty ribbon or placed in a gift box. You can never have too many thank you cards.

Before I go, a wonderful store based in London reached out to me the other day. They are called Joel & Son Fabrics and they sell high end, designer and luxury fabrics.

I've visited their website and there are truly some gorgeous fabrics to choose from. Perfect if you are making a special gown, outfit or wedding dress. Maybe you want to make some luxury soft furnishings to spice up your home decor.

They sell everything from good quality cottons to luxurious designer silks. As someone who does sew occasionally and collects fat quarters 'just in case', I did ooh and aah over some of the fabrics.

Joel & Son Fabrics also carry the Royal Warrant from H.M. Queen Elizabeth.

Why not pop on over and have a look ? Click here to take you to their store. I will also have a link in the Craft & Digi Stamp Shops page.

Thank you for popping by and I'll be back soon. Take care!

Elegant Floral

Hello blog friends!

I have decided to use more of my old stash rather than keep buying new stuff (how long that will last I don't know).

Even though I've had the items used for this card for some time, I still have listed what they are and the brand, as some of you may have them or you might be able to track them down through the power of the internet.

I usually do fun and quirky, but this time I felt like doing something more feminine and elegant.

What you need...

Patterned paper: Expressions 12" x 12" Paper Pad - Kaisercraft
Dies: Tim Holtz Plaque & Postage On The Edge Die (656628) - Sizzix; Craft Asylum Thinlits Layering Daisy (660485) - Sizzix
Stamps: Life Sentiments (CS763) - Kaisercraft
Ink pad: Extreme Black - My Favorite Things
Punch: corner rounder
Twine: white
Button: aqua
Adhesives

What you do...

1 Die cut the plaque from bold floral paper and adhere to the top of a 10.5cm x 14.5cm top fold white blank.

2 Cut a rectangle of coordinating paper 5cm x 8cm and fix to the top of the blank on the right hand side.

3 Die cut the layering daisy in another coordinating paper and fix to the bottom of the rectangular panel.

4 Stamp the sentiment under the rectangular panel.

5 Wrap and tie three lengths of twine around the top of the blank.

6 Thread and tie twine through the button and stick to the centre of the flower. Round the corners of the bottom of the blank.

I got the inspiration for the layout of this blank from Retrosketches. Sadly this blog hasn't updated since 2016, but there are over two hundred sketches/layouts for you cards to choose from with some inspirational makes.

I hope you like this little make. Don't forget you can use any stamps, papers and dies from your stash.
Thank you for popping by - TTFN!

Cute Elephant

Afternoon lovelies!

I hope you are all well and enjoying your Bank Holiday (if you are in the UK & R.O.I). If not, I hope you are enjoying your Monday!

Here is a cute little elephant card I made for my adorable niece's second birthday.

I used a gorgeous Craft Asylum die-set by Sizzix called Elephant Duo. This card features the smaller of the two elephants.

Items needed...

Dies: Craft Asylum Elephant Duo #660496 - Sizzix
Card stock: aqua, black, pale pink, white
Gems: clear
Adhesives

I die cut the elephant from a white panel of card, slightly smaller than the blank and then inlaid the coloured elephant pieces into it. I love the way the border of the little heart dies have embossed around the actual cut.

I'm really pleased because she was visiting up from London yesterday and she adored the little card :o)

I'm going to sign off for now, thanks for stopping by and I hope to catch you soon! xxx

Be Happy

Hello my lovelies!

As I promised yesterday, I'm back with another make and this one is CAS with a bright, cheery splash of colour...

Items needed...

Dies: Craft Asylum Happiness Phrases (660804); Craft Asylum Sunny Flower ( 660807) - Sizzix
Embossing folder: Layered Scallops - Echo Park
Card stock: aqua, bright pink, lime, white, yellow
Adhesives

The flower dies are so cute, there are four in the pack so you can mix and match to your heart's desire!

I got a collection of Craft Asylum dies from my mum and dad-in-law for Christmas, so I've been itching to have a play.

This is such a bright and cheery card that you can't help but smile. I made it yesterday and it was such a dull, dark, rainy day that this added that little bit of sunshine!

I do hope you like my little make and thank you for stopping by!

Take care for now, ta ta! x
