Over The Hill

Hello! Happy Saturday everyone!

Yesterday was my lovely husband's birthday. He was 45 and we are always teasing him about being an 'old git' (in the nicest possible way of course).

Well, I had this idea at 2am the other morning for a great card. It combines stamping, die-cutting with the Cricut® Explore and doodling.

Here it is...

I used Clouds from the Bits & Pieces cartridge and the Circle Tag from the Simply Sweet cartridge.

Selection from Bits & Pieces - Cricut®

Simply Sweet - Cricut®

What you need...

Digital die images: Clouds (#MFB2A2) - Bits & Pieces; Circle Tag (#M3E7EC) - Simply Sweet - Cricut®
Stamps: Duck Duck Goose (Epsilon Series) - Basic Grey; Birthday Sampler - Paper Smooches
Card stock: aqua, lime, pale grey, white
Promarkers: Cerise, Lime Green, Summer Sun
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine
Fine liner: black
Gems: clear
Adhesives

What you do...

Select the images and place on the Design Space.
Re-size the circle so it is 4.5" (approx. 11.5cm) and the clouds.
Cut scallops along the top of aqua card 11cm x 14cm so they go down at the right hand side and mat onto a top fold blank 12cm x 15cm.
Draw a black and white border around the edge of the card and stamp the sentiment in the top right corner.
Stick just over half of the circle to the bottom of the card to create the hill. Stamp and colour the larger bird, cut out his head and tuck just under the top of the circle.
Assemble the clouds and fix to the top left. Add a few gems to finish.

I've had the Basic Grey stamp set for a couple of years now, but you still might find some out there in web world for sale. The expression on the bird was exactly what I was looking for.

Simon thought the card was hilarious (phew). It's just the type of thing he finds amusing. anyway he had a lovely day and got spoilt rotten... he deserves it :o)

That's me for the mo. Thanks for calling by! x

I'm Bananas 4 You - Cricut® Explore

Hello my lovelies!

How are you? This is a bit of a late night post for me (then again every night at the moment is a late one, never usually go to bed this side of 3am - aargh!).

Anyhoo, here is another little cutie I made with the Cricut® Explore.

The banana is from the Create A Critter cartridge and the wording from the Sweethearts cartridge.

What you do...

Select the images and place on the Design Space.
Re-size and position as desired.
Cut out and attach to a 12cm square blank and round the bottom corners.

The little banana's face is adorable - so cute!

Well then, that's me done for now. I'm off to make a mug of tea and read in bed for a while. Thank you for stopping by. xx

So Sweet - Cricut® Explore

Afternoon peeps!

I've been having a play with my Explore and have come up with some real cute and simple cards, one of which I'll share with you now :o)

The cute little sweetie is from the Simply Charmed cartridge and is available as an actual cartridge or as a digital cartridge. Don't forget, you can also purchase images separately. The font is Holy Cow from the Cuttin Up cartridge.

Cuttin Up - Cricut

Simply Charmed - Cricut®

What you need...

Digital die image: Candy (#M41903) Simply Charmed cartridge - Cricut®
Font: Holy Cow - Cuttin Up cartridge - Cricut®
Cardstock: bright pink, pale blue, red, white
Cricut® Vinyl - Midnight
Punch: corner rounder
Adhesives

What you do...

Select image and place on the Design Space.
Add the sentiment and edit with the Holy Cow font.
Cut the candy background, face and sentiment with the Midnight vinyl and the rest of the candy with the cardstock.
Stick the sentiment across the bottom of a landscape A6 blank with the candy background above it.
Assemble the remainder of the candy and attach to the background with foam tape.
Round the bottom right corner.

Vinyl is great for lettering as you don't have to worry about gluing fiddly little bits. If you have any of the transfer tape, this makes positioning it even better.

Hope you like my little card, I'll be back soon with a banana themed one! Thank you for dropping by :o)

Yet Another Nap - Rick St Dennis/ Incy Wincy

Happy evening all!

I hope you are all well and happy.

This week over at Incy Wincy we have a vintage challenge and the fabulous sponsor and one of my faves... Rick St Dennis.

I chose a gorgeous image called Yet Another Nap featuring a dragon snoozing with a skull and here he is...

Coloured by Cosmic Strawberry - Image by Rick St Dennis

As my style tends to be clean and simple, I decided to print the image directly onto cream card and I have a gorgeous vintage style 6x6 paper collection by Authentique which I knew would be perfect for this. Clean, simple and vintage all at the same time!

What you need...

Card stock: cream
Patterned paper: Blissful 6x6 Bundle Collection - Authentique
Promarkers: Burnt Orange, Ice Grey 1, Ice Grey 2, Marsh Green, Moss Green, Praline, Sandstone
Sentiment: Chilly Chums - Paper Smooches

What you do...

Print the image onto cream card.
Colour in and mat onto a cream A6 top fold blank and trim away any excess.
Cut two banners from patterned paper and fix to the top left in line with the fold.
Stamp out the sentiment, trim and stick over the banners with foam tape.

Isn't he adorable? Every time I do a dragon, I want one!

Click on Rick's shop badge to take you to his store.

My fellow teamies have come up with some wonderful inspiration for you; plus we welcome two new DT members, Amy & Traci! Pop on over for a peek and maybe play along!

I'm off now to have a play with my Cricut Explore, so I'll be posting some fun makes soon. Thank you for popping by :o) xx

Hoppy St. Patrick's Day

Heevnin' my lovelies!

As you know, yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and I have a couple of close and very dear friends who are Irish (and proud of it they are too!). I made two cards, both the same with a cute little froggy.

Here is the little chap...

What you need...

Stamps: A Little Lovin - Paper Smooches; Picture It - Avery Elle
Card stock: white
Patterned paper: Social Club Mini Deck - Cosmo Cricket
Promarkers: Bright Green, Grass, Ice Grey 1, Lime Twist, Sleigh Bell, Tulip Yellow
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine
Gems: clear, pale green
Adhesives

What you do...

Cut scallops along one edge of green plaid paper 4cm x 12cm and attach to the bottom of a top fold white 12cm square blank.
Stamp the photo frame and mask the right and bottom edges. Stamp the frog in the lower right corner and a crown on his head. Stamp three pieces of tape and colour in, along with the frog.
Write a sentiment in the lower portion of the photo frame in uneven lettering.
Cut out and mat onto the card with foam tape.
Add a pale green gem to each point of his crown and add three clear gems to the plaid paper.

There you go, simple and cute!

That's me for the mo. Thanks for popping by and I'll see you soon! xx

Tequila Worm - Kenny K/Incy Wincy

Good afternoon my peeps!

Happy St Patrick's Day to all my Irish friends!

As promised I now have the second card to show you that I did for this week's challenge over at Incy Wincy. I chose Tequila Worm by Kenny K, it's just so cool.

Here is the dude himself...

What you need...

Digi stamp: Tequila Worm - Kenny K
Digital card stock: white - Craftwork Cards
Card stock: Kraft, creamy tan
Promarkers: Cinnamon, Fresh Meadow, Morning Mist, Peacock Green, Sandstone, Slate
Dies: circles
Twine: parcel twine, garden twine
Adhesives

What you do

Download, re-size and add a sentiment to the image, print out and colour in.
Die cut the image with a circle die and then mat onto a slightly larger circle in creamy tan card. Adhere to the bottom right of a top fold blank 12cm x 13.5cm made from Kraft card. Trim away any excess.
Fray a length of parcel and garden twine and tie around the top of the blank. Add a few music notes around the sentiment to finish.

I decided to add the sentiment to the image before printing it out. I couldn't find any clip art images of music notes that I liked, so I added in my own with a black fine liner pen.

This worm brings a smile to my face. Poor thing, living in a bottle of Tequila I'm not surprised he is so legless (groan - excuse the pun). I have never had Tequila, but from what I've been told, it's pretty powerful stuff.

Well, thank you for dropping by and don't forget to check out the fab DT makes over at Incy Wincy. I'll be back soon with a St Patrick's Day card I made :o)

Bunny Hole - Limited Runs/Incy Wincy

Hello there!

Did you all have a lovely weekend? It was Mother's Day here in the UK yesterday. I did tea and cake for Simon's mum (and dad). I made scrummy vanilla and raspberry cupcakes and we used my Royal Albert Old Country Roses tea set. Most of it was given to me by my nan, and some of it is older than little ol' me! (Not saying how old).

I also used my wonderful Cricut Explore to make some lovely little cupcake boxes so that mum and dad could take a cupcake home with them. In the sugar rush of eating the cupcakes I forgot to take pictures - oops!

Anyway, back onto business. This week at Incy Wincy we have two sponsors...

The lucky winners can get their mitts on some digis!

The challenge? This week it is a colour challenge and we have a gorgeous muted palette for you to work with.

Color Deer - Design Seeds®
Well, I was in a dilemma this week as I wanted to use both sponsors, so I did.

In this post I will show the card I did for the DT with Bunny Hole by Limited Runs - this image is sooo cute (thanks Nikki!).

What you need...

Digi stamp: Bunny Hole - Limited Runs
Digital card stock: white - Craftwork Cards
Patterned papers: Classic Calico 6x6 Paper Pad - Studio Calico
Promarkers: Cinnamon, Fresh Meadow, Morning Mist, Peacock Green, Sandstone, Slate
Twine: parcel twine
Adhesives

What you do

Download, re-size and print out the image, colour in, cut out to fit a 7.5cm x 15cm top fold blank.
Fix a 4cm x 7.5cm piece of creamy tan spotty paper to the bottom.
Fray a length of parcel twine and tie around the top of the paper.
Print out a sentiment, snip into a banner and add to the left of the spotty panel.

I think this image lends itself so well to the colour palette. It makes a change from the usual sugary pastel colours we normally use for Easter.

The Design Team have done wonders over at Incy Wincy, most of my teamies did a card from each sponsor, so there is lots to look at and much inspiration to be had!

I will be back later with my make using a Kenny K image. Be prepared, it's a good one!

Until then TTFN! xx
