Mother's Day Cards

Hey there my lovelies!

I hope you are all having a good week.

Mother's Day is fast approaching us here in the UK and in the current issue of PaperCrafter (#79) I have twelve (yes, twelve) Mother's Day cards. Nine are in the actual magazine and there are three bonus cards on the PaperCrafter website.

It's hard to come up with one for my mum, Simon's mum and my nan. How I managed to do twelve is anyone's guess. I must have been on a roll.

I'd like to show you the three bonus cards...

You can find all the materials required and instructions on the website, click here to take you direct to the projects. I used Penny Black Stamps for these three cards - Hello Gorgeous, Dahlias and Heart Swatches.

Not all of the cards have any reference to mum on them, so you can create them for a girly friend or relative.

I wanted to keep them bright and fresh and the whole set of twelve uses lovely, cheery rainbow colours.

Hope you like what I've come up with. Don't forget the website has loads of projects and freebies to download and the magazine has some gorgeous makes included this month.

As always, I'm so happy you've popped by. Ta ta for now :o) xx

Dragon Babies - Aurora Wings/Incy Wincy

Hi peeps!

Did you have a good weekend?

Ours was very quiet, except the chickens. They like to announce to the world that they've just laid an egg. I caught Babs and Bren red handed (or chicken footed) on the patio after doing their Escape From Alcatraz impression. Of course they denied everything..... You could see Dolly and Hattie peeping through the trellis saying 'Oooh! You're in trouble now'.

Okay, over at Incy Wincy this week the challenge is distressing. Hmm, this was a bit challenging for me as I don't usually do distressing, ageing or old vintage/Victorian styles with my cards.

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Aurora Wings and the prize is a fab $15.00 (USD) to spend on the current collection.

I chose the Dragon Babies. Cute Alert!!!!! These are so gorgeous and cute and adorable and it makes you wish you could have a little dragon of your own.

What you need...

Digi stamp: Dragon Babies - Aurora Wings
Digital card stock: white - Craftwork Cards
Card stock: gold
Promarkers: Buttercup, Firebrick, Ice Grey 1, Ivory, Molten Red, Morning Mist, Pastel Beige, Sleigh Bell, Summer Sun
Rub-on sentiment: Pebbles Inc
Ribbon: red/white grosgrain
Pearls: red/gold
Paper distresser: Tim Holtz - Tonic Studios
Adhesives

What you do

Download, re-size and print out the image, colour in and trim.
Distress the edges with the tool.
Mat onto a slightly larger piece of gold card and distress the edges.
Attach to the top of a white top fold blank 14cm x 14.5cm.
Wrap and tie ribbon around the card, under the image.
Finish with a rub-on sentiment and few pearls.

Oooh! I'm so in love with these little darlings.

My fab teamies have come up with some lovely cards for your inspiration. Pop on over to Incy Wincy for a look.

I'm off now, got things to do. Thank you for dropping by :o) xx

You're The Cherry Best!

Hey peeps!

It's been a glorious day here in Norfolk....blue skies, bright sunshine, crisp clean air...lovely!

I've just been out to see the chickens and give them a little treat of mixed corn and I noticed that some of the shrubs already have little leaves sprouting.

As exciting as it is that Spring may just be round the corner, I worry that we'll get some severe weather and the shrubs will suffer. I still have a fuchsias that are flowering!!???

Anyhoo. On with the business in hand.

I whipped up a little CAS last night with a scrummy set from Waltzingmouse Stamps and here it is...

What you need...

Stamps: Big Berry Cherries - Waltzingmouse Stamps
Card stock: white
Ink pads: Onyx Black - Versafine; Celery, Cherry, Fog - Avery Elle
Baker's twine: red
Pearls: white
Punch: corner rounder
Adhesives

What you do...

Create a 10.5cm x 14.8cm top fold blank in white card.
Stamp the cherries, stalk, leaves and sentiment onto another piece of white card.
Trim so that it is slightly smaller than the blank. mat onto the blank with foam tape.
Wrap and tie a double length of twine around the top of the blank and finish with a pearl on one of the cherries.

This was so quick to do and as each of the elements are separate, you can mix and match as much as you want. It's such a cute set. Click on the image below to take you to the store.

Love Monster #2

Happy Saturday Peeps!

I've been browsing through the Crafts Beautiful site and I came across this little card I did which was one of a four part set for the February 2013 issue of Crafts Beautiful. Where has the time gone?

Unfortunately they have the designer down as Amanda Walker but I can assure you I did it! :oD

The stamp set I used was Falling For You by Paper Smooches. You can get the items needed and instructions on how to make this little cutey here.

There, that was a quick little post wasn't it? Thank you for popping and enjoy the rest of your Saturday. xx

Tie black twine around the card, just above the sentiment and finish with a few gems on and around the hearts.

Crafts Beautiful March 2015 - Mother's Day

Good morning peeps!

As you may or may not know I have monthly projects in Crafts Beautiful and also their sister magazine, PaperCrafter.

Well, the new issue of Crafts Beautiful came out last Friday and my card is the cover star! It's been a while since I've had a front cover with CB, but this card is so bright and cheery that I'm proud and ever so chuffed they picked it.

Here is the cover star....

This is one of two cards I did for a Mother's Day feature, the other being a lovely big sunflower card...

These cards are created using eight squares of paper folded with a simple origami fold then glued together to give you a fantastic flower.

This issue makes me wish Spring would hurry up.

My masterclass this month is masking. I've done a built up floral card showing how you can mask off to give a dimensional look to your card.

Check out the Crafts Beautiful website for more fabulous ideas, projects, hints and tips. Register with the CB website and you can download any patterns, papers or templates for free!

The good thing is that there are projects and templates from issues way past. You can also download the magazine as an app.

That's me for now, thank you for popping in, take care and the card on the front cover will be signing autographs later....
