Carrot Bunny

Hello and Happy Easter!

I'm back with another cute bunny card. This one uses quite a lot of die cuts and features the Carrot Bunny die set by Sizzix as part of their new 2021 Chapter 1  release. I decided to cut a Polaroid frame using an old die from Paper Smooches to make it look like a cute photo.

The background of the photo is a piece of pale pool card with some subtle blending at the top and the main background of the card is stamped in black ink using the Dainty Swiss Dots stamp by Altenew.

What you need...

Dies:
Carrot Bunny by Tim Holtz (665213) - Sizzix Thinlits
Heartfelt by Tim Holtz (660233) - Sizzix Bigz
Polaroid - Paper Smooches

Stamps:
Dainty Swiss Dots - Altenew
Happy Happy Happy - Lawn Fawn
Happy Happy Happy Add-on

Ink:
Garden Patina Make Art - Wendy Vecchi
Obsidian Amalgam - Gina K

Card stock:
Black
Burnt Orange
Green
Lime
Orange
Pale Pink
Pool
White

Embellishments:
Black cord

Extras:
Adhesives

What you do...

1 Die cut the bunny from white card, his eyes/nose/mouth from black and his cheeks/ears from pale pink. Cut the main carrot from burnt orange and orange card and the foliage from green and lime. Assemble the bunny and the carrot.

2 Die cut the Polaroid frame from black, white and pool card. Blend the Garden Patina ink across the top of the pool section.

3 Attach the bunny to the pool panel at an angle so it overlaps the bottom edge. Trim away the excess. Layer the black frame onto the white one and stick onto a piece of white card, trim away any excess. Attach the bunny panel into the frame.

4 Stamp the Dainty Swiss Dots onto white card with the Obsidian ink and trim to 4" x 5¼" (10cm x 13cm) and mat onto a 4¼"x 5½" (11cm x 14cm) blank covered with pool card.

5 Adhere the bunny panel centrally to the top of the blank. Add the carrot, tucking it under the bunny's arms. Die cut three small hearts in pale pink card and fix to the panel. Wrap and tie black cord around the base of the blank and tie in a bow at the right.

As Paper Smooches is sadly no longer trading, the Polaroid die is now unavailable, however there are some cute die sets by companies such as Sweet Pea Designs, Mama Elephant and Lawn Fawn. You could easily make your own by die cutting a square from a rectangle of card.

The Carrot Buuny die set also comes with a larger carrot so you can have two bunnies side by side holding it. So cute.

I am going to enter this card into the Creative Fingers Challenge #205. Click here to take you to the challenge.

Well thank you as always for stopping by, I really appreciate it. I will be back soon with another card made using the Nuvo Glimmer paste. It is similar to the one I recently posted, but has different wording and colour scheme.

Enjoy the rest of your Easter!

Love Wings

Hello peeps!

I'm here not with another Christmas card, but a Valentine's card. My husband and I don't usually do the Valentine thing, but I thought I would do a soppy card for all you romantics out there.

I had a sort through some of my older Sizzix dies and came across the Heart Wings Bigz die and the Scallops On the Edge die.

Pebbles has a really cute Valentine collection this year called Forever My Always, so I've teamed some of the papers up with the dies.

What you need...

Dies: Tim Holtz On the Edge Scallops (656627); Tim Holtz Heart Wings Bigz (656638) - Sizzix
Patterned paper: Forever My Always 6x6 Paper Pad - Pebbles
Card stock: black, red
Gems: clear
Rub on: love
Adhesives

I'm not sure how many of the dies are now available, you may be able to find one or two on the internet. Any heart die would also work teamed up with some simple wings cut from patterned paper.

This card would also be perfect for an anniversary or just to tell someone you love them any time of the year!

I hope you like my simple little love card. Thank you for stopping by!

Holiday Cheer!

I've just popped by to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!! I hope you are having a wonderful time! :oD

I'm absolutely stuffed now after a fab Christmas Dinner, I've not had the Christmas pud yet, but as soon as I have room I'm tucking in (with plenty of brandy and cream - yummy).

Before I go, I just want to leave you with some pictures of the card I made for Simon. I also made a matching felt tree decoration.

The card...

The felt decoration...

I used the stunning and absolutely gorgeous Sizzix Bigz St Nick die by Tim Holtz. He's adorable and so 1950's - love it!

Thank you so much for popping by and enjoy the rest of your Christmas, TTFN. xx

P.S. Don't forget you've still a few days to enter the Cosmic Colours Challenge #8, click here to enter.

Have A Great Day Mum

Hi folks!
Happy Mother's Day to all mums out there. Sadly, I'm unable to have little ones, so I don't get all the flowers, cards and chocs. I thought I might get something from the cat (dropped a hint or two) but no! -  nothing, zilch, zero. Oh well :0)
Tally-ho! Onto the Mother's Day card I made for Simon's mum.

I was looking through my stash and I came across some Cosmo Cricket stuff. It was a huge scrapbook and card making kit that QVC did years ago. I bought one and loved it so much, I asked Simon to get me another for Christmas. As usual with Cosmo Cricket the colours are lovely, soft and muted.
What you need...

Card blank: ivory scalloped - Cosmo Cricket
Papers: various co-ordinating patterns - Cosmo Cricket
Die cut: sentiment - Cosmo Cricket
Dies: Framelits Ovals (657563); Bigz Flower Layers #9 (657114) - Sizzix
Stickers: Infuse Sugar Alphabet - Basic Grey
Brads: gems
Stickpins: ivory heart, teardrop
Lace: ivory cotton
Flat-backed pearls: ivory small

What you do...
Die cut the largest oval in blue distressed paper and attach to the left side of the blank, overlapping the edge slightly, trim any excess.
Die cut each flower in red floral paper, the two largest in ivory patterned paper and the smallest in blue distressed paper. Hand cut three leaves from dusky pink distressed paper. Scrunch everything up, then layer the flowers and attach a gem brad to the centre of each.
Arrange the flowers and leaves on the oval. Tie a bow in a length of lace and fix above the flowers, push two stickpins through the knot. Adhere the sentiment die cut to the right of the flowers, with 'mum' spelt out in alphabet stickers underneath. Embellish the sentiment with pearls.
There you have it. I'll post back later with the card I did for my mum and my nan.
Toodle-pip for now :) xxxx

Crafts Beautiful December 2012 - Pt 2

Heevnin all!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We had quite a busy weekend, with a lot of socialising (and wine - nuff said).

I want to show you the second part of my projects in the December issue of Crafts Beautiful. These are shabby chic Christmas cards, I've gone bright and bold and put my own style to what can be a very pale, muted and vintage look. They are definitely bright, with lace, buttons, wire and doilies.

I had great fun creating these, it also gave me a chance to purchase some of the new Sizzix Bigz dies with bonus embossing folder. The holly and star have endless possibilities and are great on their own or embossed with the folder (as I did in the projects). Sanding the embossed shapes really gives them that worn, distressed look.

I also used some coloured doilies that I found in Tesco, but as I mentioned in the feature, you can make your own by rubbing a dye ink pad over a plain white doily.

This is the last issue with Christmas makes, so get a copy whilst you still can! For more crafting ideas visit Crafts Beautiful

I'm going to sign off for now, I'll be back soon with the last instalment of my CB extravaganza!

Thanks for dropping in. xx
