Rainbow Unicorn

Good afternoon blog friends!

I'm back with an adorable make using a stamp and die set that I have been itching to play with. I have had it some time, but a friend asked to make a card for her granddaughter's birthday. As she loves unicorns I thought this was the perfect set to use.

What you need...

Stamps:

What you do...

1 Stamp the cake and add the eyes and icing. Stamp the flower cluster, the large flower, the horn and two ears.

2 Colour in the images and cut out using the coordinating dies. Assemble the cake.

3 Create an 11cm x 18cm white card blank. Cover the bottom 6cm with rainbow paper.

4 Print a sentiment, trim and fix to the rainbow section with foam pads. 

5 Attach the unicorn to the top of the blank and add sprinkles around the image.

The font that I used is for personal use only, I must point out that I do not make cards to sell and I did not charge my friend for this card, so the use of this font was for personal use. Free fonts are okay to use for personal use, however if you do sell your cards, then you will have to purchase a commercial use version. I decided to go with a tall blank for this make. Tall cards seem to be making a come back at the moment, I remember when tall slim and DL sized card were all the rage. 

I was really pleased with how this card turned out. The photo doesn't really do it justice and it is so cute in 'real life'. Needless to say, my friend was very pleased with it.

How About A Nice Chianti? - Dr Digi/Incy Wincy

I purchased a great image from Dr Digi a while ago called Hello Hannibal. It's part of a collection with the Hello Kitty as famous horror film characters. I just love them!

I added a film appropriate sentiment from 'The Silence of the Lambs' and this is what I came up with...

What you need...

Digital stamp: Hello Hannibal - Dr Digi's House of Stamps

Card stock: white
Patterned paper: black/white spot

Natural garden twine
Adhesives

What you do...

Re-size the image, add the sentiment and print.
Mat onto a top fold A6 blank.
Cut a rough edge along a piece of black/white spot paper and stick to the top of the blank above the image.
Fray the garden twine, wrap and tie around the top of the card.

I used a font called Evil Bunny for the sentiment. It was a free font download from dafont.com. Click here to take you the download page.

WooooOOoo Halloween!

Hi Spooks! Having a horrible Halloween?

I love Halloween. I didn't get round to carving any pumpkins this year:( Oh well. I did get around to making some Halloween cards though. I've got a couple of cards to show you today, so hang on to your braces!

What I used...

Trick or Treat Mummy stamp - The Octopode Factory

Kelly Panacci Halloween 12x12 Pad - K & Company

Card stock - black

Black ink - Versafine

Clear embossing powder - Stampendous

Promarkers

Buttons - black, white, lime, orange, purple

Baker's twine - black, white, lime, orange, purple

I cut five banners in various papers and trimmed them to different lengths. They were adhered to the right side of a 12cm square blank. Buttons were tied with baker's twine and attached to the banners.

The mummy was stamped, heat embossed and coloured in with Promarkers. He was cut out and mounted onto black card and trimmed to leave a narrow border. I mounted him onto the right hand side of the card front with foam tape.

Mummy + Pumpkin = Mumpkin...

Framelits Circle dies - Sizzix

Star stickers - black

Evil Bunny font - DaFont

After stamping, heat embossing and colouring the mumpkin, I cut him out using a circle die. I also cut two larger circles in patterned paper. These were layered up and adhered to the lower right corner of a black 12cm square blank and trimmed.

I typed and printed the sentiment in Evil Bunny font. I trimmed it into a banner, mounted it onto patterned paper and trimmed again. To finish, I stuck a few stars randomly around the image.
