Ball!

Hello peeps!

I have another Christmas card to share with you. Again I have used stamps that I've had for a while. I'm trying not to buy anymore as I have so many that I don't use enough. Of course, being a crafter, if a gorgeous set is released by a manufacturer, I may have to have it :o)

What you need...

Stamps: Snow Day - The Cat's Pajamas
Patterned paper: Fa La La 6x6 Paper Pad - Crate Paper
Dies: circles
Alcohol markers: Copic
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine

I have a couple of stamp sets by this artist from The Cat's Pajamas and it is still available from their website (click here). The other one is the adorable bunny too.

The Fa La La paper pad is full of cute images and patterns with a soft colour palette of pinks, reds, greens and some with gold foiling. Not sure how available this pad is now, but this stamp set would look good with any colour palette.

I hope you are all having a lovely day, thank you for stopping by and see you soon! x

I Heart U This Much

Hi there!

I'm back today with a cute little Christmas card.

I've been very good and used stamps and papers from my stash.

Saying that, I did get some lovely goodies through the post this morning (naughty girl - slap wrist). Oh well, I can't be good all the time ;o))

So onward we go to the card....

Don't these little guys want to make you go 'Awww!'?

What you need...

Stamps: Freezy Fellas - Paper Smooches
Patterned papers: Snow Day - Crate Paper
Card stock: white
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine
Promarkers: Amber, Bright Orange, Chilly Red, Warm Grey 1
Buttons: beige, orange, red
Baker's twine: purple
Gem: red
Adhesives

What you do...

Stamp the images onto white card, colour in and cut into a circle.
Mat onto a slightly larger piece of aqua patterned paper.
Create a white top fold A6 blank.
Attach a 6.5 cm wide strip of scallop paper down the length of the blank approximately 1.5cm from the left edge.
Cut a simple banner 3cm x 6cm in aqua patterned paper and fix to the top left corner.
Attach the snowmen to the lower right corner.
Tie twine through a red and orange button and glue to the lower right of the snowmen.
Thread twine through a large beige button, tie in a bow and glue to the left of the banner.
Finish with a red gem in the heart.

So cute!

I based this card on retrosketches#56...

Pop on over to the retrosketches blog where this and many more fab layouts can be found.

I would also like to enter this in The Cutie Pie Challenge Blog - Challenge #77 - another gorgeous blog, I'm so glad I discovered it :o)

Craft tip!!!! I find that Versafine pigment ink pads are the best to use with photo-polymer stamps as it gives very clear, precise results and you don't get the patchy result that you can get with dye based inks; but it does have a tendency to bleed when using alcohol based pens such as Promarkers or Copics. Of course you can use embossing powder to fix the image, which can be messy and time consuming.

Solution? A quick fix is to gently set the image with a heat gun for a few seconds. Let the image cool down and colour away!

Anyway, that's me for now. Thank you for dropping by...xx

What you do...

Cover an A6 top fold blank with a slightly smaller piece of green circles paper. Stamp the greeting at the top of white card 9.5cm x 12.5cm and mount onto the blank.

Die cut the long bauble in multi-coloured circles paper and the hanger part in brown snowflake paper.

Punch three different sized circles in co-ordinating papers and assemble the bauble. Attach to the lower right of the blank.

Stick small black gems from the bottom of the 't' to the top of the bauble. Wrap twine around the top of the card three times and tie in a knot. Finish with a small twine bow and a few gems.

Anyway, here is today's card, very simple and cute.
Photos edited with Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 2013

What I used...

Stamps: Joyful Greetings - Paper Smooches
Papers: Snow Day Collection 6" x 6" Pad - Crate Paper
Die: Tim Holtz Washer Border (657826) - Sizzix
Card stock: white
Ink: Onyx Black - Versafine
Baker's Twine: Purple Plum - Divine Twine
Adhesive gems: Iridescent Shimmering Dots - Papermania

How I did it...

Cover the top three quarters of a white A6 blank with snowman paper. Die cut a piece of the large scallop paper with the Washer Border and adhere below the snowman paper. Wrap twine around the card a couple of times (to cover the join) and tie in a bow at the left.

Stamp a sentiment onto white card, cut into a banner shape, mat onto red diamond paper and trim. Attach to the right of the card, over the twine with foam tape. Embellish the card and sentiment with a few shimmer dots.

There you have it! A very quick and simple card. Perfect for last minute makes as the Christmas season quickly approaches.

Off now to finish a design I'm doing for a charity organisation - I will tell you more about it soon....

Thanks for dropping in. Tatty bye for now. xxx

Fa La La!

Aft'noon chums!

Wow! It's been a busy week. Lots of socialising going on and still more to come... Luckily I made a couple of cards last week, I just haven't had the time to post them.

Today I want to show you one called 'Fa La La'. I think the phrase on the front gives it away.

What I used...

Snow Day Collection 6x6 Pad - Crate Paper
Fa La La Phrase Die - Sizzix
Baker's Twine - Purple
Button - Purple
Glitter Dots

Firstly I cut around a row of the Christmas lights, leaving the rest of the paper intact. Then I stuck it to the top of an A6 landscape blank and trimmed.

Next, I die cut the phrase and mounted it onto co-ordinating paper. I cut two pennant shapes in different papers, one slightly smaller than the other, and layered them up along with the phrase panel.

Baker's twine was wrapped around the end a few times, threaded through a button and tied in a bow. It was mounted on the top left corner of the blank, with foam tape.

To finish, I added a few glitter dots to some of the lights, just to add that bit of sparkle.

Ta da!

I've used this paper pad before. Most 6x6 pads have the same images as their big 12x12 brothers, but the Crate Paper pads are the 12x12 papers cut into quarters. This is great for cutting out elements to use on your card making (or scrapbooking). There are some great Christmas tree and snowman images in this collection, just begging to be cut out and slapped on a card...the possibilities are endless.

Until next time folks, thanks for calling in! xx

Christmas Banners

Happy Sunday chums!
I meant to post this card last night, but time ran away with me. I spent ages on this one for some reason. I think it's because I had several ideas floating around my head and couldn't quite decide which way to go.
I eventually settled on a 'banner' card. I wanted to use some papers from one collection, after spending lost hours looking through my stash I finally found some. Then I spent time trying to decide what colour the blank should be. The colours are varied in the paper collection, but I thought it lent itself very well to a kraft blank, so here it is!

The papers used are from the Crate Paper 6x6 Snow Day Collection. A fab collection with quirky images and mix of colours. I cut five papers into 2cm wide strips, then snipped a triangle piece from one end. I laid them on the blank and arranged them until I was happy with the layout, trimmed and stuck them down.

Five buttons were selected in varying sizes, styles and in colours which co-ordinated with the papers. They were threaded and knotted with parcel string, with the exception of one, this had garden twine threaded and tied in a bow securing a short length of the parcel string. The buttons were then attached to the end of each banner, just above the 'triangle'.

Finally the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment was stamped in the bottom right corner in Vintage Sepia Versafine ink. The sentiment comes from the Let it Snow set by Lawn Fawn.

I think I might make a few more of these using different paper collections, now I know the layout, it is quite a quick and simple card to make. I think the hardest thing will be choosing the papers, but that's the beauty of collections, they usually all co-ordinate. Then again, which collection do you choose?.....................Tough one.

I'll post some cards in different colourways as I do them (not sure when that will be).

Well, until next time, ta ta. x
