Nan

Yup, it's me yet again. I'm so spoiling you all today!
Right. This card I'd like to show you, is the one I made for my Nan.

As with the card for Simon's mum, I foraged through my stash and came across sheets of element and alphabet stickers from the Basic Grey Sugared collection. This collection was out some time ago, so I don't think you will be able to get it now - although any of you out there that are good at sniffing out bargains and discontinued goodies may be lucky.
You can use any Basic Grey collection, they do some wonderful designs and their stickers are always beautiful.

What you need...
Stickers: Sugared Element, Sugared Alphabet - Basic Grey
Seam binding: Forsythia
Flat backed pearls: various sizes
Stick pins: pink, ivory hearts

What you do...
Stick a length of looped border from the right hand side of a 13cm square blank. Arrange and stick several flowers from the lower left corner. Apply a photo corner to the top right corner and spell out 'Nan' above the flowers. Tie seam binding into a bow and attach to the cluster of flowers, push two heart stick pins into the knot. Embellish the card and flower centres with pearls, to finish.
It may seem that this card was quick and simple, but actually it took me ages. I just couldn't get the placement of the flowers right. After much twisting and turning (being careful not to let the flowers stick to the card) I got to a point where I was happy with the arrangement.
If you are wondering about the name of the seam binding. Forsythia is the name of a yellow flowering shrub, so it's a posh word for yellow ;) You can get a lovely range of seam binding from http://www.theribbonreel.co.uk/. They also have loads of other delicious ribbons and embellishments to choose from. Pop on over, you will be spoilt for choice.

Well I hope you liked my little saga of posts today. I really do love sharing my makes with you all. I'll post my latest feature in the current issue of Crafts Beautiful for you soon.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, ta ta for now. xxxx

What a fabulous card, Colette! I love the layered flowers, they look so cheerful - just perfect. And the bow just adds a lovely accent to the whole design. I love it! xx
