Beautiful Butterflies

Happy Tuesday peeps!

Ooops! I've not been around again for a couple of weeks. It's been mad crazy since we got back from holiday.

A dear friend had a birthday a few days ago and I created a simple, yet beautiful card for her.

What you need...

Card stock: white

Patterned paper: Hello Summer 6 x 8 Paper Pad - Simple Stories

Dies: Beautiful Butterflies (WP9D-214) - WPlus9

Gems: clear

Adhesives

What you do...

1 Create a 10.5cm x 14.5cm top fold portrait blank.

2 Cover the blank with a 10cm x 14cm piece of the striped paper.

3 Die cut the butterflies and lettering in white textured card stock.

4 Place the lettering in the centre of the blank the same way as the die is laid out, then add a butterfly at the top and bottom. Add a few gems to finish.

This is an unusual sized paper pad with quite large motifs. Some of the papers have just one image with an inspirational phrase or word. These would be perfect to trim and frame, or even make a huge card.

The colours are bright, yet muted if you know what I mean and is full of motifs such as palms, flamingos, watermelons, cacti and flowers to name but a few.

The Best Gift

Hi there!

As promised, here I am with another card in the quick and simple series. Without further ado-do here is the card...

What you need...

Printed die-cuts: Mistletoe Kisses Bits & Pieces (#7429) - Simple Stories

Patterned papers: Mistletoe Kisses Holly Jolly (#7407); Oh What Fun! (#7404) - Simple Stories

Cardstock: white

Adhesives

What you do...

1 Create a 7.5cm x 12.5cm blank.

2 Cover the bottom 3cm with Oh What Fun! paper and the remainder with the Holy Jolly paper.

3 Place the sentiment strip over the join of the papers and trim away any excess.

4 Add the tree die cut to the spotty section with foam pads.

Ta-da! There we have another quick and easy card. As this blank is an unusual size, you will need to make an envelope. You could do it from one of the papers so that it co-ordinates perfectly.

Under the Mistletoe

Hello lovelies!

Here I am again with another quick and cute card :o)

What you need...

Printed die-cuts: Mistletoe Kisses Bits & Pieces (#7429) - Simple Stories

Patterned papers: Mistletoe Kisses Oh What Fun! (#7404) - Simple Stories

Cardstock: white

Gems

Adhesives

What you do...

1 Create a white blank 7.5cm x 10.5cm, cover the bottom 2.5cm with the heart paper.

2 Attach the green, pink and red hearts along the top edge of the hearts paper with foam pads.

3 Stick the sentiment banner above the hearts.

4 Add a gem to each heart.

This is a small A7 card. As with the others I have recently posted, these are a great size for children to give to their friends. Using one collection with the die cuts really makes making these cards quick and easy. You just need to buy some C7 envelopes, or even better, make your own!

Hello loves!

Here I am on a dull, rainy Sunday. Typical weather for a British bank holiday. 

I'd like to show you another quick and easy card using the Simple Stories Mistletoe Kisses Collection.

This one uses only the die cut elements from the Bits & Pieces pack.

What you need...

Card stock: white

Printed die cuts: Mistletoe Kisses Bits & Pieces (#7429) - Simple Stories

Gems

What you do...

1 Create a top fold blank 8cm x 15cm in white card.

2 Arrange the lettering evenly across the bottom of the blank to spell 'believe' and stick in place.

3 Sit the Santa above the 'V'.

4 Add the blue heart above the 'I' and finish with a gem.

There you go, a quick and easy, cute card. Because the Santa sits well above the blank, this card will fit nicely into a C6 envelope. You may need to add a sheet of card into the envelope to stop the top of his hat getting bent in the post.

I still have a few more little cards made from this collection, so I will show them to you over the next few posts.

Sweet, Simple Merry & Bright

Afternoon peeps!

I'm back with another quick and easy make using one paper craft collection. It's been a mad couple of weeks for me getting more magazine commissions done before deadlines - eek!

Here is the cute little card, it is only A7 size (7.5cm x 10.5cm) which I think is perfect for children to make and give to their chums!

What you need...

Collection kit: Mistletoe Kisses 12 x 12 Collection Kit (#7400) - Simple Stories

Printed die cuts: Mistletoe Kissed Bits & Pieces (#7429) - Simple Stories

What you do...

1 Create a top fold white A7 blank and from the 3 x 4 Journaling Card Elements sheet (#7410) cut out the Merry & Bright panel.

2 Trim the panel to 7cm x 10cm and mat centrally onto the blank.

3 Take the holly and berry motif from the Bits & Pieces set and adhere to the holly at the top of the banner with foam pads. 

Ta da! You're done!

I love this collection and I think the colour scheme is adorable. Pinks, reds and aquas teamed up with the cutest images. 

There are 12 images on the journaling sheet so there are potentially 12 cards to be made. The only problem is that it is double sided, so you need to pick your favourite images...unless you buy another sheet (#7410).

Cute Bauble - Cricut® Explore Air

Hello lovelies!

I hope you are all well!

I've been having a play on my Cricut® Explore Air and one of my favourite collections is the Simply Charmed set. It is jam packed with the most adorable and cute characters.

I liked the colour scheme used on the images page, so I did the same. As I wanted to use bold black lettering, I added the black background to really make the image pop out.

What you need...

Images: Ornament (#M454BC) - Simply Charmed

Vinyl: black

Card stock: black, dark pink, light pink, red, grey, white

Adhesives

What you do...

1 Select the image and cut out in cardstock, assemble and fix to the top of a 10.5cm x 14.5cm blank.

2 Select a font and cut out in black vinyl, stick to the bottom of the blank.

Ta-da! Done. Another quick and simple card for Christmas. The beauty of a card like this is that you can cut out multiples in one fell swoop, then sit back with a cuppa and assemble.

He is adorable though (I'm certain that it is a 'he', it looks like a 'he'. :o)

Bauble Joy

Hello lovely peeps!

I'm back with another simple Christmas card. This card has an elegant bauble hanging from a branch in warm chocolate, red and aqua.

What you need...

Dies: Holiday Words Script (660058) Tim Holtz, Triplits Ornaments (659929) - Sizzix; Flowering Winterberry (MB98391) - Memory Box

Card stock: cocoa, red, aqua, white

Baker's twine: red

Pearl: white

Adhesives

What you do...

1 Die cut the branch and large background layer of the ornament in cocoa, the ornament in red and the snowflake inner and the 'joy' in aqua card.

2 Cut a piece of white card 10cm x 14cm and attach the branch to to the top right so it overlaps the edge slightly.

3 Assemble the ornament, fixing a length of twine from the hanger, tie a knot in the loose end. Stick to the lower left of the card so the knot sits on one of the branches.

4 Place the 'joy' to the right of the ornament. Add a twine bow to the top and a pearl to the centre. Mat the panel onto a white 10.5cm x 14.5cm blank.

There you have it, a simple yet elegant card. This would also look lovely on a dark background with icy whites and pale blues.

The ornament set is excellent value for money as it has 9 dies in the set and you can create multiple combinations to create beautiful baubles. You could stick two back to back and hang them on a Christmas tree.

Snowman Joy - Cricut®

Good afternoon lovelies!

It is still scorchio here, so let me cool you down with an icy snowman. I created this cute card with the help of my Cricut® Explore Air.

What you need...

Images: Joy (#M39935BA) Snowball Fight - Photo Play - Cricut®

Card stock: aqua, pale green, pink, orange, white

Adhesives

What you do...

1 Select the image and add to the design page. Re-size to suit. 

2 Cut out in the chosen colours and assemble the snowman.

3 Attach to a white 10.5cm x 14.5cm landscape blank.

Isn't he adorable? I actually have the paper collection in this range and it is as cute as he is. The papers are adorned with snowmen, penguins, trees and mittens in bright colours such as reds, pinks, bright greens and aquas. A sticker element sheet is also included. You can get it from Craftelier.

I have done a couple of cards using digital die-cutting images and a batch of cards using a scrapbook collection. These will be posted over the next couple of weeks.

I hope you like this quick and easy card. Sometimes you need quick and easy when doing batches of Christmas cards!

Believe - Cute Penguin Bauble

Good afternoon lovely peeps!

It is still glorious weather here in the UK. Unfortunately the trees and plants are suffering a bit, if would rain overnight and be sunshiny during the day it would be perfect. We shouldn't moan really, because the weeks are flying by so quickly Autumn and Winter will be soon upon us. I love all the seasons though.

I've been busy today, making batches of jam and lots of quick Christmas cards - so productive!

Lately I've been going through some of my PaperCrafter magazines and thought it might be nice to do a series where I re-do some of my makes that were in said magazine.

The first one is a lovely penguin bauble card using a Joanna Sheen die. This featured in issue 88 of PaperCrafter way back in 2015. I have made it exactly the same.

What you need...

Card stock: aqua, black, white

Die: Penguin Bauble Signature Die - Joanna Sheen

Baker's Twine: black

Gems: clear

Christmas rub-on phrase

Adhesives

What you do...

1 Die cut two baubles, one from black card and one from white. Assemble so the inner parts and the top are white.

2 Cut a 10cm x 14cm piece of aqua card and attach the bauble to the lower right with foam pads. Thread a length of twine through the bauble and secure over the top edge of the card.

3 Mat the aqua panel onto a top fold 10.5cm x 14.5cm white blank. Tie twine in a bow around the top of the bauble hanger. Finish by adding the phrase and a few gems.

I loved doing this card. The die was one that I would not necessarily choose, but the magazine sent it to me to create a card and I'm glad they did. I think it looks so elegant.

This is going to be a good series to do. I tend not to get my makes back from PaperCrafter so I don't really get the opportunity to show them off.

Dude, ...Chill - Snoopy

Hello peeps!

I hope you are all well! I thought I would do a quick post before I start a new commission.

Okay, so my crafty mojo is definitely back. I was on such a roll at the weekend that I actually got a few Christmas cards made.

As I mentioned in my last post, I have been looking through my wood mounted stamps and I came across my Snoopy ones. This card features Snoopy chilling on top of his Christmas light covered dog house. So cute.

What you need...

Stamps: Snoopy Decorated Dog House I1017 - Stampabilities; Freezy Fellas - Paper Smooches

Copic: BG0000 Snow Green, BG02 New Blue, R29 Lipstick Red, R35 Coral, RV06 Cerise, YG23 New Leaf

Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine

Patterned paper: Happy Holiday Trees #SW2604 12"x12" - Echo Park

Card stock: white

Ribbon: red

Stickers: snowflakes

Adhesives

What you do...

1 Stamp the image onto white card and colour in.

2 Mat onto the top of a 10.5cm x 14.5cm blank.

3 Cover the bottom of the blank with the patterned paper.

4 Stamp the Christmas phrase at the top left, tie a red ribbon around the top of the patterned paper and decorate with some snowflakes.

Isn't he adorable and of course totally cool and chilled? I have a few of these Stampabilities stamps, they are quite rare now, but with a bit of shopping around you can still pick them up.

This is another card that you can do quite quickly, perfect for churning out those Christmas cards!
